It is exciting to think from now on how the journey of the Italian Challenge 2019 will be full of surprises. The biggest challenge will be to drive for over 1300 km in 4 days through many different views, landscapes and invisible roads across Italy.
The most awaited event is Monday, June 3 at Misano Adriatico (RN), where will set up the starting Village with the preliminary operations and the big briefing to meet everyone and get to know all people that will be one big family for four days of the event.
First stage Italian Challenge 2019: Misano Adriatico – Roccaporena (PG). Right from the start the GPS track will bring all bikers in the mountains of Urbino to go down and cross the galleries of Roman times on the slopes of Mount Pietralata. For over 350 km it will be an alternation of high Apennines where you will find an ancient monasteries clinging to rocky slopes, where the solitude of the journey will meet the small villages still inhabited of Marche and some dirty roads in the heart of Umbria. We will arrive in the ancient city of Cascia and on the top of the hill of Roccaporena, where the characteristic Church in the rock will seems a greek landscape.
Second stage Italian Challenge 2019: Roccaporena (PG) – Campitello Matese (CB). The longest stage of over 400 km will enter in Lazio through mountains at almost 2000 meters on the highest and solitary streets of Abruzzo. La Gola del Saggitario, legendary and mysterious, will bring our bikers in Molise where we will enter the silence of the ancient mountains, where the forgotten streets will rise up to the great peak Matese that dominates central Italy … and here the altitude stop where you breathe the blowing of the wind and the silence, where the starry sky can give emotions and colors that repay the fatigue of the long journey.
Third stage Italian Challenge 2019: Campitello Matese (CB) – Contursi Terme (SA). The road will be immediately unpublished and will enter in the hidden forests of Campania. The last sector of the third stage will be characterized by small roads on high mountains and after passing through some characteristic Lucan villages will slow down and stop in Contursi Terme, a suggestive spa where you can admire the sulphurous source all around you. The right reward, for those who want, will be a thermal bath to reconcile the fatigue and the emotions collected.
Fourth stage Italian Challenge 2019: Contursi Terme (SA) – Maratea (PZ). The last stage will be on Friday, June 7th so we can return to home on the weekend with no rush. We will give you a pleasant route without highways to Misano Adriatico (RN).
The fourth stage will be particularly rewarding because you will smell the sea without ever seeing it; For the last 200 km very narrow roads will cross the amazing Park of Cilento knowing the scents, the colors and the great hospitality of the most hidden villages until you get to climb the Redeemer from which to admire the Tyrrhenian sea from the most characteristic glimpse of the whole Italian west coast. The titanic Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea will host the great arrival of our family riders on the top of a breathtaking landscape. Once again, it will be unforgettable to live the emotions of this journey together, a journey of over 1300 km that will cross Italy page by page just like in a book.
